Raihan Saffron
The Saffron Starter Kit is the easiest way to try premium Afghan saffron. Each kit pairs our two starter sizes — 1 g for tasting and 2 g for everyday cooking — at a bundle price that saves you $6 vs. buying separately.
Most first-time saffron buyers want to taste before committing to larger bottles. The 1 g bottle gives you 4–6 weeks of weekly use, and the 2 g bottle covers a household for 6–8 weeks. Together, they bridge tasting and everyday cooking at the lowest entry price we offer — and let you decide whether to step up to our 3 g, 5 g, or 10 g sizes later.
All threads in this kit are grown in the Herat region of western Afghanistan and hand-harvested in November of the most recent crop year. Each batch is lab-tested for crocin, picrocrocin, and safranal levels before being sealed in food-grade crystal-clear bottles.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place. Properly stored, your saffron will retain peak potency for 2 years from harvest.
Net weight: 3 grams total (1 g bottle + 2 g bottle). Ingredient: 100% pure Afghan saffron threads (Crocus sativus L. stigmas). No additives, no fillers, no artificial coloring.
Hand-packed and distributed by Raihan Saffron, 24 Bassett St, Lynn, MA 01902, USA. Phone: 857-313-9458.
Harvested in Herat, Afghanistan. Our supplier, Herat Saffron Ltd, was granted the International Taste Institute’s 2026 Superior Taste Award in Brussels for its Afghanistan Herat Saffron, judged by the Institute’s jury of chefs and sommeliers. Herat grows roughly 90% of Afghanistan’s saffron, and its high-altitude fields and hand-harvest tradition are why this origin is sought out by cooks who care what saffron tastes like.
One ingredient, nothing added: 100% pure Afghan Super Negin saffron threads — naturally gluten-free, vegan, and suitable for halal and kosher diets. No additives, no coatings, no fillers.
Standard U.S. shipping is $6.95 flat — free on orders over $39. Orders placed by 4 PM Eastern ship the same day, Monday to Saturday, from Lynn, Massachusetts, and arrive in 2–7 business days with tracking.
Every bottle is covered by our 30-day potency guarantee: bloom a pinch, and if it doesn't turn deep gold within 10–15 minutes, we'll replace it or refund you in full. No restocking fee, no questions.
How much do I need?
Always bloom your threads first — 15 minutes in warm water unlocks color and aroma.
A guide, not a rule — adjust to taste. Bloom threads in warm (not boiling) water for 10–15 minutes.
