How long 50 g lasts a foodservice operation

A restaurant running 30 paellas/week burns ~6–9 g/week — so a 50 g bulk pack lasts approx. 6–7 weeks at that volume. A café running one signature saffron drink uses 5–15 g/month — a 50 g bulk pack is approx. a 15-week supply. Bakeries vary widely; most settle around 10–25 g/month per saffron item.

An Award-Winning Origin

Harvested in Herat, Afghanistan. Our supplier, Herat Saffron Ltd, was granted the International Taste Institute’s 2026 Superior Taste Award in Brussels for its Afghanistan Herat Saffron, judged by the Institute’s jury of chefs and sommeliers. Herat grows roughly 90% of Afghanistan’s saffron, and its high-altitude fields and hand-harvest tradition are why this origin is sought out by cooks who care what saffron tastes like.

One ingredient, nothing added: 100% pure Afghan Super Negin saffron threads — naturally gluten-free and vegan. No additives, no coatings, no fillers.

    FAQ
How much saffron do I use?

For most dishes, 10 to 15 threads is enough. Bloom in warm water or milk for 5 to 10 minutes before using.

How long will one bottle last?

For typical home cooking, 1 gram lasts most households several weeks. Heavy or daily users may go through it faster.

Is this saffron threads or powder?

Whole threads. We do not sell powdered saffron because powder is the easiest place for substitutes to hide.

Do you ship across the U.S.?

Yes. We ship across the United States with tracked delivery. Standard shipping is $6.95 flat, and orders over $39 ship free.

    What it actually costs

Priced by the bottle it looks dear. Priced by the dish it is not.

Saffron is the only spice people price by the jar instead of by the plate. A 0.1 g pinch seasons a dish for four, and there are about 250 threads in a gram — so one gram is roughly ten dinners.

Bottle Price Dishes for four Per dish
    1 g $20 10 $2.00
    2 g $35 20 $1.75
    3 g $45 30 $1.50
    5 g $65 50 $1.30
    10 g $99 100 $0.99

Based on a 0.1 g pinch seasoning a dish for four. Cook heavier and the per-dish figure rises; a saffron tea uses a third of that.

    How much do I need?

    A pinch is plenty.

Always bloom your threads first — 15 minutes in warm water unlocks color and aroma.

Ordered at eleven at night not expecting anything until Monday. Got the shipping notification before I'd closed the laptop. That's not why I'm writing this though — the saffron is. Threads are long, dark red, no yellow at all. Bloomed it in warm water and it took a good twelve minutes to give up its colour, went proper gold, and the threads were still red when I poured it in. That's what real saffron does.

Finally saffron that actually tastes like saffron
I ordered the 1g bottle to try it before committing to more. The threads are long, all red, no yellow bits, and the smell when I opened the bottle was strong and sweet. I bloomed 5 threads in warm water for my rice and the color and flavor were night and day compared to the grocery-store stuff I used before. Shipped same day fast arrived in 2 days. Already planning to order the bigger bottle.
