Ingredients

  • 20 threads Raihan Saffron, bloomed in 2 tbsp warm water
  • 2 cups long-grain basmati rice, rinsed and soaked 20 min
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pinch of ground cardamom (optional)

Instructions

  1. Drain rice. In a heavy pot, melt butter. Stir in rice for 30 seconds.
  2. Add water, salt, cardamom. Bring to a boil, reduce to lowest heat, cover, cook 18 minutes.
  3. Off heat. Drizzle saffron bloom (liquid + threads) over half the rice. Cover. Rest 5 minutes.
  4. Fluff gently with a fork — leave white and gold streaks visible.
